Deborah Netanel joined psalterbook in early 2001 and has remained as the permanent guest and recording cellist for the group. She holds degrees from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, The Hebrew University (Jerusalem), the Rubin Academy (Jerusalem), and received her Doctorate of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She performs regularly with Tutti Solisti in chamber-music concerts throughout the Midwest. One of the finest young composers of her generation, Deborah's prize-winning compositions have been heard in major concert-halls in the United States and abroad, and have received glowing reviews in The New York Times, Musical Opinion (London), among many others. As a performer, she is one of the most versatile of all psalterbook players, equally at home in classical, klesmer, and popular styles. And, yes...she has even come to appreciate bluegrass!
