Lantern
There once was an empty void, formless, dark and deep,
God said “Let there be light” and woke us from our sleep.
And David cried out to the Lord “Oh Father, change my heart!
And cleanse me from my sinfulness, and lead me from the dark…”
A lantern in the darkness, a beacon to the sea,
The bright hope for the world, a promise of thing to be.
A light that guides our troubled souls for all eternity.
The bright shining for mankind, a promise of things to be…of things to be.
